Technical Note : Why Is Vibration an Issue for Dissolution Testing ?
نویسنده
چکیده
INTRODUCTION It has become apparent, in the recent past, that vibration within the tablet dissolution testing environment is a real issue. Although this may not have been too apparent in normal routine dissolution testing, the real impact of vibration has become a focal point as a result of the Prednisone “Calibrator Tablet” tests, which generally have to be performed every six months on each instrument within the testing environment. Prednisone tablets are referred to as “disintegrating” tablets because they break down in the medium very quickly to form a powdered mass in the basket (Apparatus 1) or a fairly well-defined cone under the Paddle (Apparatus 2). The second system validation test is made using Salicylic Acid tablets, which are “non-disintegrating,” so they keep their form throughout the test and slowly dissolve. The Prednisone tablet is 10 mg in active content, and so it has a large percentage of excipients present; in contrast, the Salicylic Acid tablet is made entirely of salicylic acid with no excipients present.

Free Vibration Analysis of a Sloping-frame: Closed-form Solution versus Finite Element Solution and Modification of the Characteristic Matrices (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This article deals with the free vibration analysis and determination of the seismic parameters of a sloping-frame which consists of three members; a horizontal, a vertical, and an inclined member. The both ends of the frame are clamped, and the members are rigidly connected at joint points. The individual members of the frame are assumed to be governed by the transverse vibration theory of an ...
متن کاملHydrodynamics Induced Vibration to Trash Racks (TECHNICAL NOTE)
In conventional power plants trash-racks are provided at the intakes to protect the turbines. In pumped storage plants, the draft tube or tailrace must also have trash-racks to protect the units while pumping. Because the loads believed to cause many failures of trash-racks are dynamic in nature, it is important to understand the dynamic characteristics of trash-rack structures in general and a...
متن کاملSeismic Mitigation of Building Frames using Magnetorheological Damper (TECHNICAL NOTE)
The present study focusses on the damping force control of shear mode magnetorheological (MR) damper for seismic mitigations. Therefore, the semi-active MR damper which can control the vibration is analyzed both experimentally and numerically. Carbonyl iron is used as the magnetic particle and Castrol Magnetec oil as carrier fluid throughout the study. MR damper is designed and fabricated, and ...
متن کاملEffects of Impeller Gap on Rotor Vibration in a High Speed Centrifugal Compressor: A Numerical and Experimental Analysis (TECHNICAL NOTE)
Centrifugal compressors produce high pressure ratio and rotate at speeds. So, a tiny unbalance can produce severe vibration. In this paper, effects of impeller gap on rotor vibration in a high speed centrifugal compressor is investigated. For this purpose, a numerical and experimental analysis are carried out. The moving reference frame method in FLUENT software is used for modeling of geometri...

Landing impact and runway unevenness have proximate consequence on performance of landing gear system and conduce to discomfort of passengers and reduction of the pilot’s capability to control aircraft. Finally, vibrations caused by them result in structure fatigue. Fuzzy logic controller is used frequently in different applications because of simplicity in design and implementation. In the pre...
